Happy Halloween everybody!
I'd like to thank all the parents who supplied snacks for our Halloween party. It made the party extra fun to have all those delicious snacks. I hope it wasn't too much trouble to get them.
A Quick Note on Homework:
We put a new routine in place for homework. If students do not complete homework they will now fill out an "OOPS" sheet. This states the work to be done and the date it will be handed in. This is to be signed by parents and returned to the teacher. If you notice a note in the agenda that says "Sign OOPS Sheet," that is what it means.
Students will also have a "homework book" in which they will be doing most homework. This is to simplify things by having only 1 book to keep track of. Also, this eliminates the problem we encounter all the time when I need to mark a book and students also need to use it in class.
ON TO THE FUN STUFF!
What a wonderful day! Students were resplendent in a myriad of magnificent costumes! We had pirates, magicians, robots, bats, witches, super heroes, devils and more! The day kicked off with a Halloween parade around the school. The array of costumes on display was stunning. It was really great to see everyone getting into the spirit.

Then we did multiplication in math. Ok, it was a bit of a let down but the students worked well. Good job! I am looking forward to diving into a more problem solving inquiry based approach this unit. I'm also looking forward to developing different mental math strategies.
In literacy students completed the written instructions for the co-operative games they have designed. Next class they will present them. We also acted out some punctuation in speech while practicing writing dialogue with correct punctuation.,
The afternoon wrapped up with French and a film.
